Caseworker (2)

We are hiring two (2) part-time (25 hours/week) Caseworkers for our Family & Youth team. One position will be based in Morrisville and one will be based in Canastota. These positions are eligible for benefits.

The Caseworker will:
• Provide direct services to consumers requiring emergency funding/grants to stabilize essential needs (including shelter or permanent housing, utilities, transportation, job development services, and information and or referral to services not provided within the agency).
• Offer short term (less than six months) casework to ensure consumers have the needed services to achieve a healthy interdependence with the community and a partnership towards self-sufficiency.
• Provide short-term casework to include follow up and on-going assessment of the need for long-term family development services.
• Account for outcomes with consumers by keeping accurate records and implementation of the policies and procedures of the agency and investors as required.

Requirements:
• Associate’s degree in human services or related degree and at least two years experience working in human services required. In lieu of an Associate’s degree, at least five years of experience working in human services OR a Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field with no human services experience is acceptable.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a team member, ability to keep information confidential, and the ability to establish healthy client/worker boundaries.
• Proficient in use of computer and Microsoft applications (particularly Word); experience with automated data bases preferred.
• Required to complete Family Development Credentialing course within two years of hire as available.
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
• Must be able to pass an acceptable background check. Employment will be conditional pending the outcome of the check.
